Quest 1: The Battle of Gettysburg

In the summer of 1863, after defeating the frederal army at Chancellorsville and crushing another frederal army Winchester, exhausting Frederal troops near Salem Church after launching counterattacks when Union assaults failed and resulted in heavy casualties, launched one of the largest invasions in the civil war with about 75,000 men into the state of Pennsylvania. After a long and labouring march into Union territory, Lee's army ran out of food, clothes and even shoes. Lee then ordered the search of supplies around Gettysburg. Stuart's cavalry who were looking around Hanover for supplies, were surprised by a sudden volley by the Union cavalry and the charge of the mounted Union cavalry killed many Confederate troops and Stuart was almost captured himself.
